just been looking at the the elite armours for elementalist and noticed how similar both these armours looked.
both have the same double shoulder covers, both have the same split robes at the back but then again, the similarites stop there

Most of the armour sets in EotN are re-skins of armour sets from the campaigns...

mm seems more like a mix of pieces with a skin to make them fit together...skirt seems like the elite kurzick one while the top seems to be krytan/elite aeromancers.
No idea about the gloves and boots though ...was wondering if the gloves might be smth new actually.

QFT, most, if not all, EotN armor are re skins if other armor.

The reskins of EOTN were definitely a disappointment at first. That said I'm slowly getting used to them and the reskin designs are often quite attractive. Still, I'd love to see some more original armour added into the game at some point.

I think the norn armors are new but the rest are all reskins. I guess that's all they had done when they decided not to make utopia.

Armors that are not reskins, according to wiki and cursory inspection:
Asuran - Monk, Mesmer, Ele, Rit, Para, Derv
Monument - Everything except warrior, and the male ele.
Norn - All
Deldrimor - I'm not going through and comparing individual pieces to every other armor set, but at a glance many are obviously new
Silver Eagle - obviously, just warrior
And, obviously, all the special headgear and gloves.

But, please, don't let me stop you from QQ-ing about how "all eotn armor is reskinned".

The only armors that aren't retextures of current armor models are the Norn sets.

Remember the Norn areas were the ones opened up for the EotN preview weekend, ahead of everything else. Maybe they finished up there faster and had more time to design actual new armor.

alas, my ele will only look good in his consulate docks armor. I bought a set of elite armor the other day just to display in the HoM but i never wear it.
